Competitive Soccer Program

The Sporting Columbia's competitive teams compete in competitive leagues and tournaments.  Our Club is dedicated to providing the highest level of coaching and training available anywhere.

Our goal is to prepare players to compete at the next level, from our youth division to premier divison and at highest levels in high school and college soccer.  Learn more about our competitive soccer program below.

Why Play for SCSC?

SCSC offers access to the most accomplished staff in Mid-Missouri, with the majority of our coaches being former collegiate athletes and/or current collegiate coaches.  As a non-profit organization, the Club offers affordable fees and a private training facility- Pride Park.

Sporting Columbia's Pride Park consists of approximately 50 acres and has an estimated commercial value of approximately $7 million.  The Club currently has 6 fields developed (3 with lights) and plans to add 4 more fields by 2020.

The Club is dedicated to building soccer at all levels and is comprised of a Board of Directors who provide oversight and management of the Club.  The Board ensures greater accountability for coaches, players and parents.

What is the Commitment?

Games are generally scheduled during the weekends and generally some local and/or out-of-town tournaments depending on age and team readiness.

When are Practices?

Practices schedule will be determined by coaches and directors following team formation. Sessions are dependent upon field availability.  Teams typically practice two times per week.  Start times vary may and practices generally last for 1.5 - 2 hours depending on the age group.

Where are Practices?

The majority of the team practice exclusively at Sporting Columbia's Pride Park while others may utilize additioanl locations for team convenience. Fields may vary depending on schedules. During times of wet field conditions coaches and managers may plan for an alternate location.

Will Teams Play in Tournaments?

Yes.  Most teams schedule a few out-of-town tournaments each year. Sporting Columbia also hosts two tournaments per year and all of our teams typically participate.  SC Tournaments help boost our local economy and provide revenue for the Club.  Additional tournaments are at the discretion of the teams and coaches.  Tournaments generally increase as players move to older divisions. An event schedule is provided to each coach prior to the start of the season in order to ensure team budgets are spent appropriately.

Volunteer Obligations

Our mission is to build the best soccer Club possible and leave it stronger for the next generation of players and parents.  Volunteers play an important part in our mission.  Parents are generally asked to contribute 20 - 30 hours of time to the Club each year.

The Club's primary fundraising efforts include managing Saturday night Bingo at the Cosmopolitan Club.  All parents in our Competitive program have obligations for Bingo.  Learn more about BingoLearn about other volunteer opportunities.
