SUMMER 2023 CAMPS & CLINICS
Sporting Columbia is excited for the upcoming Sporting KC camp June 5-8 at Cosmo Park and will also be hosting several additional club camps and clinics for Summer 2023! Please see below for training opportunities for recreational and competitive players!
Sporting Columbia Development Camp
This camp focuses on skill development for the individual player with the objective of helping them improve their technical foundation through skills training and game situations. Players will have lots of fun, too! Development Camp will be held outdoors at Sporting Columbia Training Facility in June and indoors at the Columbia Sports Fieldhouse in July.
This camp is open to players ages 6-12 of all skill levels (recreational and competitive boys & girls).
Registration Fee: $115 per camp session

Recreational Ball Mastery Clinics
Ball Mastery training sessions will be offered as two age groups. 8-11 year old recreational players will focus on developing and improving basic technical foundation. Primary topics: passing, dribbling, and receiving. 12 & up recreational players will work on improving ability to execute skills under pressure. Skills include: using the first touch to create time & space, using dribbling and passing to maintain possession, and turning away from pressure to improve a player’s vision of the field.
These clinics are open to recreational players ages 8 & up (boys & girls).
Registration Fee: $60

SPORTING KC SUMMER CAMP
Join Sporting KC June 5-8 for their Columbia, Missouri Summer Camp at Cosmo Park!
Camp is led by Sporting KC Youth coaches. All Sporting KC camps are designed to empower players to feel more confident in their soccer abilities and learn from curriculum aligned with Sporting KC and the Sporting KC Academy.
This camp is open to boys and girls of all skill levels from 5-14 years old.

Speed & Agility Clinic
Players will be introduced to proper techniques to improve mobility and strength. The focus of these sessions is to improve soccer-related physical skills such as speed, agility, balance, and strength though developing improved performance mechanics.
This clinic is open to players ages 13 & up of all skill levels (recreational and competitive boys & girls).

Defending Clinic
The defending clinic will focus on the functional skills of a defender. Skills include: individual and small group defending, clearing, distribution, and defensive heading.
This clinic is open to competitive players ages 12 & up (boys & girls).

Junior Striker/Keeper Finishing Camp
This camp focuses on developing the individual player's technique, creativity, and reading of the game to create and finish more goals.
This camp is open to competitive players ages 9-13 (boys & girls).

Advanced Striker/Keeper Finishing Camp
This camp focuses on positioning, advanced technique, and creating space for yourself and others off the ball to create and finish more goals.
This camp is open to competitive players ages 14 & up (boys & girls).

Creative Attacking Clinic
This clinic will focus on the functional skills to be a dynamic attacking player. Skills include: 1v1 dribbling, combination play, distribution with a purpose, scanning, movement off of the ball, and counter-attacking.
This clinic is open to competitive players ages 12 & up (boys & girls).

Creative Attacking Clinic *registration closes 6/28/2023
GOALKEEPER TRAINING
Goalkeeper training sessions will be offered as two age groups. 10-12 year old keepers will work on fundamental keeper skills, including handling, footwork, shot stopping, distribution, angle play, breakaways, and crosses. 13 & up keepers will focus on advanced topics with a special emphasis on crosses, positioning, angle play, playing out of the back & distribution with the feet, keeper fitness, and mid to high range shot stopping.
This training is open to competitive players ages 10 & up (boys & girls).

Competitive Junior Ball Mastery Clinic
These sessions focus on developing and improving a players’ basic technical foundation. Passing, dribbling, and receiving are the primary topics. The goal is improving a player’s comfort on the ball.
This clinic is open to competitive players ages 8-11 (boys & girls).
