Mission Statement

Mission:

Sporting Columbia strives to serve as the premier soccer platform for central Missouri, providing an unparalleled experience that supports the players and teams abilities to reach their full potential within the sport.

Why Sporting Columbia?

Sporting Columbia is Mid-Missouri's premier youth soccer program, serving over 1700 soccer players. The Club is proud to play a part in creating positive soccer and life experiences for all players, recreational and competitive.

At Sporting Columbia, we're committed to developing the player, the individual and the team. We will accomplish our goals by promoting and teaching fundamental and advanced soccer skills, sportsmanship, teamwork and a love for the game of soccer.

We provide a soccer learning environment that is unmatched in Mid-Missouri. Our coaches are all nationally licensed and have extensive experience in helping develop players and teams to their fullest potential.

As an official Academy Affiliate of Sporting Kansas City, players have a direct pipeline to Sporting Kansas City's Academy and youth development initiatives. Affording them access to the experience of receiving heightened levels of training.

Sporting Columbia is a major player in building Columbia's soccer infrastructure by privately developing Sporting Columbia Training Facility at Highway 63 & Brown School Road. Today Sporting Columbia Training Facility features five full size competition-quality fields as a practice facility for our academy division. Two lit fields are available for night play. Sporting Columbia's competitive division is the only one in the area with its own facility. In the future the park will provide additional play space for our recreational division, further proving our commitment to building soccer for all of Columbia.

We value and appreciate our players, parents, coaches, volunteers and sponsors.

Program Structure

Sporting Columbia works hard to keep our cost reasonable and to make our programs available to everyone interested in player soccer at any level.  Primarily ran by volunteers (board members, recreational coaches, etc) our Club staff consists of one full time position, four part time employees and competitive coaching staff. We offer financial aid to families who qualify based on available funds.

Fee categories are as follows for the Academy division:
Club fees - This fee will be assessed immediately following tryouts and covers the entire year. This fee is non-refundable and covers the cost of coaching, insurance, and club overhead for the seasonal year which runs August 1 - July 31.

Game Fees - These fees will be collected at a downpayment at the start of the season. Teams will collect once in the fall & once in the spring. They may also collect for any winter game or training events. This fee is split evenly based on the number of rostered participants. This fee will be listed on a separate invoice for the fall, then spring. Sporting Columbia must pay these fees on behalf of the teams before the first game so it is important that we collect these fees in advance of each season.

Travel - The expenses vary depending upon the age of your child and the events selected by the team. Families are responsible for all travel expenses associated with league and tournaments attending. Please note that most tournaments require teams to book hotels thru their designated booking company. We must do so as a condition of event acceptance. Coaches / managers should provide booking information and costs several weeks in advance.

Recreational fee structure
Recreational fees are one time payment processed at the time of registration. Financial aid is available to families who qualify based on available funds.

Fees include player jersey, ball, insurance, field expenses, at least one referee (U9+) and a percentage of club overhead (salaries, phones, etc).
